On Monday 19 October 2026, Her Excellency the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC, received Ms Gillian Bird, Australian Ambassador to Vietnam.  

Then, the Governor-General hosted a morning tea for the Alchemy Chorus, dementia inclusive choir, at Government House, Canberra. 

Afterwards, the Governor-General received Adjunct Professor Robert Whittaker AM, Co-Deputy Chair, and Adjunct Professor Kim Lovegrove, Chair, International Building Quality Centre.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General received Mr Toby Sharpe, Australian Ambassador to Palau. 

Then, the Governor-General received Ms Carrie-Ann Leeson, Chief Executive Officer, National Australia Day Council. 

Afterwards, the Governor-General met with students and teachers from Brisbane Girls Grammar, Brisbane, Queensland, as they undertook a tour of Government House, Canberra.
