On Sunday 11 February 2024, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) Mrs Linda Hurley travelled from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, to Ballarat, Victoria.
Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Councillor Des Hudson OAM, Mayor, City of Ballarat, attended the 20th anniversary of the Australian Ex-Prisoner of War Memorial.
In the afternoon, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Councillor Hudson, attended a lunch with members of the City of Ballarat council, and representatives of the Ballarat community, including students and community leaders.
Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley travelled from Ballarat, Victoria, to Canberra, Australian Capital Territory.
In the morning, the Governor-General was represented by Mr Paul Singer MVO, Official Secretary, at the Australian Bravery Association’s Service of Remembrance at Government House.
