On Saturday 16 May 2026, Her Excellency the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC travelled from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory to Brisbane, Queensland. 

Then, the Governor-General, as Patron and guest of Ms Meredith Staib, Chief Executive Officer, visited the Royal Flying Doctor Service, Queensland Section, Brisbane Base at Brisbane Airport. 

In the afternoon, the Governor-General, as guest of Ms Renee Blackman, Chief Executive Officer, visited the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Health Service Brisbane in Woolloongabba. 

Then, the Governor-General, as guest of Mr Nicholas Marchesi OAM, Co-Founder, visited an Orange Sky volunteer shift in Fortitude Valley. 

In the evening, the Governor-General, and His Excellency Mr Simeon Beckett SC, as guests of Ms Rachel Healy, Chief Executive, Queensland Performing Arts Centre, attended the World Premiere of the Drover’s Wife at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre, Brisbane.
