On Thursday 14 May 2026, Her Excellency the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC presided over a meeting of Federal Executive Council with Senator the Honourable Penny Wong and the Honourable Matt Keogh MP, at Government House, Canberra.

Then, the Governor-General travelled from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory to Gundagai, New South Wales. 

Afterwards, the Governor-General, as guest of the Honourable Michael McCormack MP, Member for Riverina, attended the unveiling of a memorial to Private Richard L Norden VC and the Battle of Coral-Balmoral in Gundagai, New South Wales. 

In the afternoon, the Governor-General, as guest of the Honourable Michael McCormack MP, Member for Riverina, attended a lunch with Coral-Balmoral veterans at Gundagai Returned and Services League of Australia.

Then, the Governor-General travelled from Gundagai, New South Wales to Sydney, New South Wales. 

Afterwards, the Governor-General received Dr Ruth Higgins SC, Solicitor-General Designate, Attorney-General’s Department, at Admiralty House, Sydney.
