On Friday 25 September 2020, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley travelled from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, to Sydney, New South Wales.

On arrival, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley attended the State Funeral for the late the Honourable John Fahey AC and paid their condolences to the Fahey Family.

Afterwards, The Governor-General hosted a lunch for Mr Chris Hartley, Executive Officer, Australian Future Leaders Programme.
