On Monday,15 December 2025, the Governor-General, Her Excellency the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC and His Excellency Mr Simeon Beckett SC, travelled from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory to Sydney, New South Wales.
Then, at the Bondi Pavillion, Their Excellencies laid floral tributes and met community members following the Bondi Beach Terror Attack, which occurred on Sunday 14 December 2025.
Throughout the day, the Governor-General placed phone calls to: Senator Dave Sharma; The Honourable Mark Dreyfus KC MP; Allegra Spender MP; The Honourable Minister Ryan Park MP; Rabbi Mendy Litzman OAM, Hatzolah Sydney; Rabbi Yehoram Ulman; Rabbi Yaakov Glasman AM; Mr Peter Agnew AM ESM, President, Surf Life Saving Australia; Mr David Ossip; Chair, New South Wales Board of Jewish Deputies; Assistant Commissioner Kirsty Schofield APM, representing the Commissioner Australian Federal Police; Commissioner Malcolm Lanyon APM, New South Wales Police Force; Dr Dominic Morgan, Commissioner New South Wales Ambulance; Mayor Will Nemesh, Waverly Council; and Ms Danielle Tischmann, Australian Union Jewish Students.
In the evening, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General lit a candle in honour of the victims of the Bondi Beach Terror Attack.
