On Thursday, 5 March 2026, Her Excellency the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC, presided over a meeting of the Federal Executive Council, with the Honourable Matt Keogh MP and Senator the Honourable Doctor Jess Walsh, at Government House, Canberra.

Then, the Governor-General received the Honourable Matt Keogh MP.

Afterwards, the Governor-General met students and teachers from John Paul College, Daisy Hill, Queensland, as they undertook a tour of Government House, Canberra.

Later, the Governor-General met students and teachers from Our Holy Redeemer Primary School, Surry Hills, Victoria, as they undertook a tour of Government House, Canberra.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General and His Excellency Mr Simeon Beckett SC, received Her Excellency Ms Kate Logan, Australian High Commissioner to Canada, and Ms Rebekah Grinlay, Assistant Secretary, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

Then, the Governor-General met students and teachers from Hartwell Primary School, Camberwell, Victoria, as they undertook a tour of Government House, Canberra.

Afterwards, Their Excellencies, received the Right Honourable Mark Carney, Prime Minister of Canada. 

Later, Their Excellencies travelled from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory to Sydney, New South Wales. 

In the evening, Their Excellencies, as guests of Andrew Pridham AO, Chair, and Matthew Pavlich, Chief Executive Officer, Sydney Swans, attended the Tribute to Bondi Beach and Australian Football League Opening Round match between Sydney Swans and Carlton Football Club, at Sydney Cricket Ground.
