On Thursday, 2 April 2026, Her Excellency the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC, presided over a meeting of the Federal Executive Council with the Honourable Matt Thistlethwaite MP, and the Honourable Andrew Leigh MP, at Government House, Canberra.

Then, the Governor-General, as guest of Mr Jeff Pope AM, Electoral Commissioner, attended a ‘Teach the Vote’ education session, at Old Parliament House, Canberra.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General, met students and teach from St Columbus Primary School, Winston, Queensland, as they undertook a tour of Government House, Canberra.

In the evening, the Governor-General travelled from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory to Sydney, New South Wales.
