On Saturday, 18 April 2026, Their Excellencies the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC, and Mr Simeon Beckett SC travelled from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory to Sydney, New South Wales.

Then, the Governor-General, as Chancellor of the Order of Australia, and His Excellency Mr Simeon Beckett SC, hosted an Investiture Ceremony for Mr James Valentine AM at Admiralty House, Sydney. 

In the evening, the Governor-General, as Patron, and His Excellency Mr Beckett SC, as guests of David Hallberg, Artistic Director, attended The Australian Ballet x Bangarra Dance Theatre at Sydney Opera House.
