On Thursday 21 May 2026, Her Excellency the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC met students and teachers from The Friends School, North Hobart, Tasmania, as they undertook a tour of Government House, Canberra.

Then, the Governor-General, as guest of Ms Katie Ley, President, Canberra Quilters Incorporated, attended the official opening of the 2026 Members Exhibition and 50th Anniversary Challenge at Exhibition Park, Canberra.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General travelled from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory to Sydney, New South Wales.

In the evening, the Governor-General, as guest of Ms Lisa Annese, Chief Executive Officer, attended the Chief Executive Women “Create” pre-dinner reception at the International Convention Centre, Sydney.

Then, the Governor-General, as Patron, and His Excellency Mr Simeon Beckett SC, as guests of Mr Ben Houston, President, attended the Commonwealth Games Australia President’s Dinner at the Four Seasons Hotel, Sydney.
