On Wednesday 5 August 2026, Her Excellency the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC, received a Letter of Credence, accrediting Her Excellency Ms Pema Tshomo as the Ambassador of Bhutan. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr Ugyen Dorji, Deputy Head of Mission, Mr Sonam Tobgay, Counsellor, and Ms Jigme Wangmo, Second Secretary, Royal Bhutanese Embassy, at Government House, Canberra.

Then, the Governor-General met students and teachers from Lindisfarne Anglican Grammar School, Banora Point, New South Wales, as they undertook a tour of Government House, Canberra. 

Afterwards, the Governor-General, received a Letter of Credence, accrediting His Excellency Mr Nafaa Maghlaoua as the Ambassador of Algeria. The Ambassador was accompanied by his wife, Mrs Amira Maghlaoua, Mr Yacine Amir, First Secretary, Embassy of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria.

Later, the Governor-General, met students and teachers from Scone Grammar School, Scone, New South Wales, as they undertook a tour of Government House, Canberra. 

Then, the Governor-General, received a Letter of Credence accrediting His Excellency Mr Curtis Leonard Tu'ihalangingie as the High Commissioner for Tonga. 

Afterwards, the Governor-General met students and teacher from Belridge Secondary College, Beldon, Western Australia, as they undertook a tour of Government House, Canberra.

Later, the Governor-General, received a Letter of Credence accrediting His Excellency Mr Jimmy Nipo as the High Commissioner for Vanuatu. The High Commissioner was accompanied by Mr Ernest Guy Sumptoh, Second Secretary, High Commission of the Republic of Vanuatu, Mr Donald Pelam, Consul-General of Vanuatu to Sydney, and Mr Francois Xavier Chani, Consul-General of Vanuatu to Melbourne.

Then, the Governor-General, received a Letter of Credence accrediting His Excellency Mr Roland Merar as the Ambassador for Palau. The Ambassador was accompanied by his spouse, Ms Lucy August, Mr Hadden Seklil, First Secretary, and Ms Laura Clarke, Honorary Consul-General of Palau to Sydney.
