On Friday 14 August 2026, Her Excellency the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC, recorded a video message for The Opals.

Afterwards, the Governor-General travelled from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory to Sydney, New South Wales. 

In the afternoon, the Governor-General hosted an afternoon tea for Reconciliation Australia. 

In the evening, the Governor-General, as guest of Rabbi Eli Feldman, attended a Shabbat Service and Community Dinner at Newtown Synagogue, Sydney.
