On Wednesday 26 August 2026, Her Excellency the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC, received the Australian Ambassador-Designate to Egypt at Government House, Canberra. 

Then, the Governor-General met with students and teachers from Maryland Public School, New South Wales, as they undertook a tour of Government House, Canberra.

Afterwards, the Governor-General met with students and teachers from Lowther Hall Anglican Grammar School, Victoria, as they undertook a tour of Government House, Canberra.

Later, the Governor-General met with students and teachers from Sandon Public, New South Wales, as they undertook a tour of Government House, Canberra.

Then, the Governor-General travelled from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory to Sydney, New South Wales.

In the evening, the Governor-General and His Excellency Mr Simeon Beckett SC, as guests of Mr Daisuke Arakawa, Executive Vice President, Nikkei Incorporated, attended the Nikkei Asia Forum 2026 at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney.
