On Thursday 3 September 2026, Her Excellency the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC, presided over a meeting of the Federal Executive Council with The Honourable Anika Wells MP and The Honourable Josh Wilson MP.

Then, the Governor-General hosted the Children of Veteran's Assembly with the Department of Veterans’ Affairs at Government House, Canberra.

Afterwards, the Governor-General met with students and teachers from pacific Lutheran College, Meridan Plains, Queensland, as they undertook a tour of Government House, Canberra.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General signed the official condolence for the passing of the late His Majesty King Harald V of Norway, at the Royal Norwegian Embassy, Canberra

Then, the Governor-General signed the official condolence for the victims and families of the natural disaster that occurred 26 August 2026 in Nepal, at the Embassy of Nepal, Canberra.

In the evening, the Governor-General, as the guest of Ms Emily Martin, Chief Executive Officer, Royal Australian Mint, attended a reception for the launch of the Holey Dollar coin and celebrated the 60th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between Australia and Mexico at Royal Australian Mint, Canberra.

Then, the Governor-General travelled from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory to Sydney, New South Wales.
