On Thursday 1 October 2026, Her Excellency the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC, presided over a meeting of the Federal Executive Council with The Honourable Sam Rae MP and The Honourable Dr Andrew Leigh MP.

Then, the Governor-General travelled from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, to Sydney, New South Wales.

Afterwards, the Governor-General placed a video call with Cricket Australia’s Luke Humphries, Principal Advisor, Government Relations, Shawn Flegler, High Performance, Women’s Cricket, and Adam Renfrey, Senior Specialist, Government Relations, for the GG XI team selection.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General, as Patron, hosted a reception for the Australian Red Cross Strategy Launch.
