On Wednesday 15 February 2023, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley, travelled to Sydney, New South Wales.  

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley hosted a morning tea for the reveal of the Sydney Handprints artwork.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General as Patron, and Mrs Hurley, hosted an afternoon tea for the Australian Golf Club.

Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley hosted an investiture ceremony at which the Governor-General, as Prior of the Order of St John, invested the Governor-General of the Solomon Islands, His Excellency Sir David Okete Vuvuiri Vunagi GCMG KStJ, as a Knight of Grace of the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem.

In the evening, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley travelled to Canberra, Australian Capital Territory.
