On Friday 16 August 2024, Her Excellency the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC received Mr Max Willis, Head of Mission Designate to the Republic of Vanuatu. 

Then, the Governor-General as guest of Mr Brendan Moon AM, Coordinator-General, visited and met with staff at the National Emergency Management Agency’s National Situation Room.  

In the afternoon, the Governor-General received Ms Harinder Sidhu AM, Australian High Commissioner to New Zealand, and Ms Casey Beath, Director New Zealand Section, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.  

Afterwards, the Governor-General received the Right Honourable Christopher Luxon, Prime Minister of New Zealand.  

Later, the Governor-General travelled from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, to Sydney, New South Wales.
