On Thursday 17 July 2025, Their Excellencies the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC and Mr Simeon Beckett SC, hosted an Investiture Ceremony at which Doctor Galarrwuy Yunupingu was posthumously appointed the Companion of the Order of Australia. 

Then, the Governor-General and Mr Beckett, as guests of Will Stubbs and, Coordinator, and Merrikyawuy Ganambarr, visited the Buku-Larrnggay Mulka Art Centre.
