On Friday 18 July 2025, Their Excellencies the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC and Mr Simeon Beckett SC, as guests of Co-Principal Merrkiyawuy Ganambarr-Stubbs, visited Yirrkala School. 

Then, the Governor-General and Mr Beckett, as guests of Peter Dunkley, Regional Manager, Active Communities & Youth Services, East Arnhem Regional Council, attended a Yirrkala community sports event. 

Later, the Governor-General and Mr Beckett, as guests of Melanie Rarrtjiwuy Herdman, Chair, and Fiona Djerrkura, Deputy CEO, visited the Miwatj Health Aboriginal Corporation. 

In the afternoon, the Governor-General and Mr Beckett, travelled from Nhulunbuy, Northern Territory to Sydney, New South Wales.
