Federal Executive Council; Issue of Writs for the 2010 federal election; Battle of Fromelles 94th commemoration and wreath laying ceremony, Sydney; Opening of the Bible Society of NSW's Heritage Bible Display; Book launch - ???Rare and Curious: The Secret History of Governor Macquarie's Collectors' Chest' by Elizabeth Ellis; Re-interment ceremony at Fromelles (Pheasant Wood) Military Cemetery; Reception at Cobbers' School, Fromelles; Relatives Reflection Period at Fromelles (Pheasant Wood) Military Cemetery; Reception and investiture ceremony for Mr Hubert Huchette AM.

On Monday 19 July 2010, at Government House, Canberra, the Administrator of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia, Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Afterwards, at Parliament House, Canberra, the Official Secretary to the Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, Mr Stephen Brady, read the Governor-General’s proclamation to prorogue the Parliament and to dissolve the House of Representatives.

Following the prorogation of the Parliament and dissolution of the House of Representatives, the Administrator presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council to issue the writs for the 2010 federal election.

Earlier, at the Hyde Park ANZAC Memorial, Sydney, the Administrator attended the Battle of Fromelles 94th commemoration and wreath laying ceremony.

In the afternoon, at St John’s Anglican Cathedral, Parramatta, the Administrator, as Patron of the Bible Society of New South Wales, officially opened their Heritage Bible Display.

In the evening, at the State Library of New South Wales, Sydney, the Administrator officially launched the book ‘Rare and Curious: The Secret History of Governor Macquarie’s Collectors’ Chest’.

Earlier, at Fromelles (Pheasant Wood) Military Cemetery, France, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE represented the Government and the people of Australia at the re-interment ceremony of an unknown soldier.

In the afternoon, at Cobbers’ School, Fromelles, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce attended a reception hosted by the Mayor of Fromelles, Mr Hubert Huchette AM.

Afterwards, at Fromelles (Pheasant Wood) Military Cemetery, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce attended the Relatives Reflection Period.

Later, at the French Memorial, Fromelles Church, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce attended a ceremony at which the Governor-General laid a wreath.

In the evening, at the Fromelles Town Hall, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce attended a reception, at which the Governor-General, as Chancellor of The Order of Australia, invested the Mayor of Fromelles, Mr Hubert Huchette AM as an Honorary Member of The Order of Australia.
