On Thursday 23 June 2026, Her Excellency the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC, as Patron-in-Chief, and guest of His Excellency the Honourable Jay Weatherill AO, Australian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, attended a Welcome Reception celebrating Oceania at the 2026 Commonwealth Games, at the Hilton in Glasgow, Scotland.

Then, the Governor-General attended a bilateral meeting with His Excellency Sir Tom Marsters KBE, King’s Representative to the Cook Islands, and Lady Tuaine Marsters, Spouse of the King’s Representative to the Cook Islands, at the Kimpton Hotel in Glasgow, Scotland.

Afterwards, the Governor-General attended a bilateral meeting with Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Sinaitakala Tuku’aho, the Kingdom of Tonga, and the Honourable Dr Viliami Latu, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Justice, Minister for Trade and Economic Development of the Kingdom of Tonga, at the Kimpton Hotel in Glasgow, Scotland.

Later, the Governor-General, as Patron-in-Chief, and guest of Ms Petria Thomas OAM, Chef de Mission of the Australian Commonwealth Games Team 2026, attended the Commonwealth Games Reception for Heads of State and the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony at the OVO Hydro Arena in Glasgow, Scotland.
