On Thursday 11 September 2025, Their Excellencies the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC, and Mr Simeon Beckett SC, as guests of Her Excellency Ms Gillian Bird PSM, Australian Ambassador to Vietnam, attended the 2025 Vietnam Australia Forum where the Governor-General presented the Opening Address. 

Then, Their Excellencies, as guest of Ms Peggy O’Neal AO, Chancellor, RMIT University, attended the Front Door Opening of the Australia Vietnam Policy Institute (AVPI) in Hanoi. 

Afterwards, the Governor-General, as guest of Ms Linh Pham, Vietnam Television host, conducted a media interview with Vietnam 360.

Later, Their Excellencies, as guests of Her Excellency Ms Gillian Bird PSM, Australian Ambassador to Vietnam, attended an afternoon tea and awards ceremony at the Australian Embassy Hanoi. 

Then, Their Excellencies travelled from Hanoi, Vietnam, to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. 

In the evening, Their Excellencies, as guest of Her Excellency Ms Gillian Bird PSM, attended a dinner with the Vietnamese Diaspora in Ho Chi Minh City.
