On Friday 12 September 2025, Their Excellencies the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC, and Mr Simeon Beckett SC, as guests of Her Excellency Ms Gillian Bird PSM, Australian Ambassador to Vietnam, co-hosted a breakfast for members of the Australian Vietnamese Community in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.  

Then, the Governor-General, accompanied by His Excellency Mr Simeon Beckett SC, attended a call with the Secretary of the Party Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, His Excellency Tran Luu Quang. 

Afterwards, Their Excellencies, as guest of His Excellency Tran Luu Quang, conducted a tour and attended a State Banquet at Independence Palace. 

Later, Their Excellencies, as guests of Ms Peggy O’Neal AO, Chancellor, RMIT University, visited the RMIT Vietnam Campus in Ho Chi Minh City. 

Then, Their Excellencies, as guests of Major General Tran Quoc Viet, Director General, Military Hospital 175, conducted a visit to, and met with peacekeepers at Military Hospital 175. 

Afterwards, Their Excellencies, as guests of Her Excellency Ms Gillian Bird PSM, Australian Ambassador to Vietnam, attended an afternoon tea with long serving staff of the Australian Consulate of Ho Chi Minh City. 

In the Evening, Their Excellencies travelled from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, to Sydney, Australia.
