On Friday 8 September 2023, Her Excellency Mrs Linda Hurley as Patron, and His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd), as guests of Ms Marg Woodhouse, VIEW National President, attended the 2023 VIEW National Convention.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley travelled from Hobart, Tasmania, to Canberra, Australian Capital Territory.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General as Chief Scout, and Mrs Hurley hosted an afternoon tea for Scouts ACT, where the Queen’s Scout Awards and a Baden-Powell Scout Award were presented.
