On Sunday 17 December 2023, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley travelled from Hobart, Tasmania, to Wilkins Aerodrome, Antarctica.  

On arrival, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Ms Emma Campbell, Head of the Australian Antarctic Division, met with staff and researchers at Wilkins Aerodrome.  

Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley travelled from Wilkins Aerodrome, Antarctica, to Hobart, Tasmania.
