On Sunday 15 October 2023, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley travelled from Melbourne, Victoria, to Sydney, New South Wales.

Afterwards, the Governor-General, as Ambassador, and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Mr Martin Dalrymple, Secretary, officially opened the 2023 FIPFA Powerchair Football World Cup; and watched a match between Australia and the United States of America.

Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley travelled from Sydney, New South Wales, to Canberra, Australian Capital Territory.  

In the afternoon, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as Joint Patrons of Girl Guides Australia, hosted a campfire afternoon tea for Girl Guides camp participants.
