On Monday 31 March 2008 at the Adelaide Convention Centre, South Australia, Their Excellencies the Governor-General, Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC and Mrs Marlena Jeffery attended the 2nd International Salinity Forum, at which the Governor-General delivered the opening address.

In the afternoon, at Government House, Adelaide, the Governor-General received Honorary Aides-de-Camp to the Governor-General: Wing Commander Rick Subotkiewicz, ADC; Brigadier Tim Hanna, ADC; and Commander Craig Pritchard, ADC RAN.
