Opening of Parliament; ACT branch of the Order of Australia Association; 2010 Leadership in Government Awards

On Tuesday 28 September 2010, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC, received a farewell call from the Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines, His Excellency Mr Ernesto Hernandez De Leon.

Later, at Parliament House, Canberra, the Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended the First Session of the Forty-Third Commonwealth Parliament, at which the Governor-General addressed the parliament.

Afterwards, at the Royal Canberra Golf Club, Yarralumla, Mr Bryce addressed the ACT Branch of the Order of Australia Association.

In the evening, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce hosted the 2010 Leadership in Government Awards, at which the Governor-General presented The Institute of Chartered Accountants 'Government Leader Award' and the 'Emerging Government Leader Award'.
