On Thursday 04 September 2025, The Administrator of the Commonwealth, Ms Margaret Beazley AC KC, presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council with attending members, The Hon Tanya Plibersek MP and Senator the Hon Tim Ayres.

Their Excellencies the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC, and Mr Simeon Beckett SC, as guests of Dr Fukuoka Shota, Deputy Director-General, National Museum of Ethnology, visited the Torres Strait Collection at the Osaka Museum of Ethnology. 

Later, Their Excellencies, as guests of Mr Miyagi Norihiro, Principal of Yuhigaoka High School, visited Yuhigaoka School, Osaka. 

In the afternoon, Their Excellencies travelled from Osaka, Japan to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. They were met by Battsetseg Batmunkh, Foreign Minister, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, attended a welcome reception.
