On Wednesday 16 July 2025, Their Excellencies the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC and Mr Simeon Beckett SC, travelled from Rockhampton, Queensland to Nhulunbuy, Northern Territory.  

Then, the Governor-General and Mr Beckett, as guests of Mitchell O’Brien and Mr Lala (David) Yunupingu, Co-Lead Teachers, visited the Dhupuma Barker School. 

In the afternoon, the Governor-General and Mr Beckett, as guests of Shane Witten, Chairperson, Nhulunbuy Town Board, attended a citizenship ceremony. 

In the evening, the Governor-General and Mr Beckett, as guests of Shannon Price, General Manager Gove Operations, Rio Tinto, attended a Women Leaders of Nhulunbuy Dinner.
