On Saturday 26 April 2025, Their Excellencies the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC and Mr Simeon Beckett SC represented Australia at the Requiem Mass for His Holiness Pope Francis at Saint Peter’s Square, Holy See.  

Then, the Governor-General and Mr Beckett, travelled from Rome, Italy to Cairo, Egypt.  

In the evening, the Governor-General and Mr Beckett, as guests of His Excellency Dr Axel Wabenhorst, Ambassador to Egypt, attended a reception to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Bilateral Relations at the Ambassador’s Residence.
