On Friday 1 September 2023, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd), as guest of Mr Shane Phillips, Chief Executive Officer, attended a Tribal Warrior boxing session at the National Centre of Indigenous Excellence.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Her Excellency Mrs Linda Hurley, as guests of Mr James Honor, Principal, attended the official opening of the St George Christian School's new Atrium Building and Chapel Gallery.

In the evening, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Mr Blake Solly, Chief Executive Officer, South Sydney Rabbitohs, attended the Sydney Roosters v South Sydney Rabbitohs match.
