On Friday 15 May 2026, Her Excellency the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC travelled from Sydney, New South Wales to Canberra, Australian Capital Territory.

Then, the Governor-General, as Patron and guest of Ms Verity Hawkins, Chief Executive Officer, Cancer Council Australian Capital Territory (ACT), attended an Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea event at Cancer Council ACT in Deakin.

Afterwards, the Governor-General, as guest of Dr Steven Kennedy PSM, Secretary, visited Prime Minister and Cabinet in Barton.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General presided over a meeting of Federal Executive Council with the Honourable Tony Burke MP and the Honourable Julian Hill MP, at Government House, Canberra. 

Then, the Governor-General received Ms Julie-Ann Guivarra, Chief Executive Officer of the National Indigenous Australians Agency, at Government House, Canberra.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received the Norden Freeman Family, at Government House, Canberra.

Later, the Governor-General hosted a reception for members from the Diplomatic Corp, at Government House, Canberra.

In the evening, the Governor-General, as Patron, hosted a reception for Rotary Australia World Community Service 60th Anniversary, at Government House, Canberra.
