On Monday 05 July 2025, Her Excellency the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC, travelled from Sydney, New South Wales to Canberra, Australian Capital Territory. 

Then, the Governor-General met with students and staff of Newman Senior High School, Newman, as they undertook a school tour of Governments House. 

In the afternoon, the Governor-General, as Patron, hosted an afternoon tea for Duke of Edinburgh Gold Awards Ceremony.
