On Sunday 20 July 2025, Her Excellency the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC, travelled from Sydney, New South Wales to Canberra, Australian Capital Territory. 

Then, the Governor-General hosted an event for Senators, Members of Parliament and their families ahead of the opening of the 48th Parliament of the Commonwealth of Australia.
