On Wednesday 17 September 2025, Her Excellency the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC, recorded a video message with Professor Anne Twomey.

Then, the Governor-General, recorded video messages for the Western Australian School’s Constitutional Convention, International Peace Day, Girl Guides Jamboree, PNG Independence Day and Guardian Bird of the Year. 

In the afternoon, the Governor-General presided over a Citizenship Ceremony for Citizenship Day.
