On Monday 24 November 2025, Her Excellency the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC, travelled from Sydney, New South Wales to Canberra, Australian Capital Territory.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General received Mr Scott Dewar, Australian Ambassador to China, Mr Michael Growder, First Assistant Secretary, and Mr Tim Lindemayer, Director – East Asia Branch, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

Then, the Governor-General received His Excellency Mr Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, People’s Republic of China. 

In the evening, the Governor-General hosted a reception for the Pacific Australian Emerging Leaders’ Summit.
