On Monday 8 June 2026, Her Excellency the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC, travelled from Sydney, New South Wales to Melbourne, Victoria. 

Then, the Governor-General, as guest of Mr Matt Tilley, Chief Executive Officer, FightMND, and with members of the Daniher family, attended the FightMND Big Freeze 12 ‘Walk to the G’ event at Federation Square, Melbourne, Victoria.

Then, the Governor-General, as guest of Mr Matt Tilley, Chief Executive Officer, FightMND, attended the FightMND Big Freeze 12 sliders event, luncheon and the King’s Birthday Australian Football League Match at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Victoria. 

During the day the Governor-General took part in various media interviews relating to the FightMND Big Freeze 12, the passing of Professor Richard Scolyer AC and the King’s Birthday Honours list 2026.
