On Thursday 11 September 2008, at the Embassy of the United States of America, Canberra, Their Excellencies, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended a ???9/11' Memorial Service.

Afterwards, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General received the Secretary of the Department of Climate Change, Mr Martin Parkinson PSM. Later, the Governor-General received the Director-General of the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation, Mr Paul O'Sullivan. Then, the Governor-General received the Chief Executive Officer of the Murray Darling Basin Commission, Dr Wendy Craik. Afterwards, the Governor-General received the Secretary for Defence, Mr Nick Warner PSM.
