On Thursday 22 April 2010, at Government House, Perth, the Administrator of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia, His Excellency Dr Ken Michael AC, attended a Presentation Evening for the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia.

Earlier, in Tarin Kowt, Afghanistan, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the Commander of the Joint Task Force, Major General John Cantwell AO, attended a lunch with Australian service men and women. Later, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce viewed a demonstration of the tasks performed by Australian troops in Afghanistan, which included a briefing by an Explosive Engineer Search Team incorporating detector dogs. Then, at Kandahar Air Field, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce visited the Heron Detachment and Rotary Wing Group.
