Then, the Governor-General, and His Excellency Mr Simeon Beckett SC, attended a Regional Governance Leaders Roundtable, at the Torres Strait Regional Authority Offices, Thursday Island.

Afterwards, Their Excellencies, as guests of Mr Lui Ned David, Executive Chair, Gur A Baradharaw Kod Torres Strait Sea and Land Council Torres Strait Islander and Aboriginal Corporation, attended the 90th Anniversary of the 1936 Torres Strait Islander Maritime Strike, at the Quetta Precinct.
