Woodside Energy North West Shelf Karratha Gas Plant; Rio Tinto Iron Ore East Intercourse Island Facility; Gumula Mirnuwarni Education Project; Roebourne Art Group and Yinjaa-barni Art Group; Shire of Roebourne Civic Reception

On Monday 8 August 2011, at Karratha, Western Australia, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of Executive Vice President Commercial and General Counsel, Mr Rob Cole, and Executive Vice President Pluto Liquid Natural Gas Project, Mr Lucio Della-Martina, visited the Woodside Energy North West Shelf Karratha Gas Plant.

Afterwards, at Dampier, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of Rio Tinto Iron Ore Chief Operating Officer, Mr Dale Harris, visited the Rio Tinto Iron Ore East Intercourse Island facility.

Later, at Hampton Harbour Boat and Sailing Club, Dampier, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce attended a lunch with representatives of the Pilbara Cities Office, Pilbara Development Commission, Regional Development Australia and Pilbara Regional Council.

In the afternoon, at Karratha Senior High School, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of Polly Farmer Foundation Board Member, Ms Jolleen Hicks, visited the Gumula Mirnuwarni Education Project and met with student participants.

Afterwards, in Roebourne, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce met with representatives of the Roebourne Art Group and Yinjaa-barni Art Group.

In the evening, at the Shire of Roebourne Council Chambers, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the President of the Shire of Roebourne, Councillor Nicole Lockwood, attended a civic reception.
