On Monday night the Australian Defence Force lost one of its finest, in a tragic accident during training at the ADF's parachute school in Jervis Bay.

Warrant Officer Lachlan Muddle was a highly respected, deeply committed, and long serving member of Australia's Special Air Service.

On behalf of all Australians I want to extend my sincere condolences to his family, the broader Australian Army family, and the wider Defence comunity, who will be feeling this loss deeply.
