The Governor-General has announced 41 Australian Bravery Decorations to recognise the courage of 46 people.

“I would like to congratulate today’s recipients of Australian Bravery Decorations,” the Governor-General said.
“Australian Bravery Decorations honour those Australians who put themselves in danger to protect the lives or property of others. Recipients come from different parts of our country and diverse backgrounds. They are connected by their selfless, courageous, resilient and determined response in extraordinary circumstances.
“Each is inspiring. I am delighted that these exceptional people will forever know they have earned the gratitude of every Australian.
“On behalf of all Australians, congratulations to you all and thank you for your bravery.”
Two Australian Bravery lists are announced every year. The independent Australian Bravery Decorations Council makes recommendations to the Governor-General regarding who should be recognised and at what level of award.
