Scott Saddler AM

Scott Saddler AM, a Wiradjuri man, was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia in the Australia Day 2021 Honours list for significant service to public administration, and as a supporter and mentor of Indigenous Youth.

“I didn’t expect to become an AM … There are so many people Aboriginal people and Torres Strait Islanders across Australia that are doing amazing jobs, amazing work.

“The people out in country and all the mobs across Australia - they need to be recognised for some of the things they do … Helping the community, helping the younger generation.

“There’s amazing work been done across Australia in remote areas … the community need to band together and say to this particular person ‘you should be recognised’.”

The Order of Australia recognises people who have demonstrated outstanding service or exceptional achievement.

While some recipients are well-known, others are not. Each year hundreds of Australians are recognised for their volunteer work and service to local communities.
