On Monday 12 September 2022, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley received His Excellency Shingo Yamagami, Ambassador of Japan, at which the Governor-General, as Chancellor of the Order of Australia, presented the Warrant and Insignia for the late Mr Abe Shinzo AC, as an Honorary Companion of the Order of Australia.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received Sir William Deane AC KBE KC, 22nd Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, and Lady Deane, to sign the condolence book in memory Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth The Second.
