On Wednesday 12 December 2018, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), received His Excellency Mr José Galego Montano, Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba, for a farewell call, at Government House.

Later, the Governor-General, and Lady Cosgrove hosted a lunch for the Heads of Mission of 22 countries in the European Union, and representatives of the Delegation of the European Union to Australia and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

On Tuesday 11 December 2018, the Governor-General, His Excellency General Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as the Commander-in-Chief and Reviewing Officer, and Lady Cosgrove, attended the Royal Military College Duntroon Graduation Parade and Commissioning Ceremony, at Duntroon.

Then, Lady Cosgrove, as Patron, and the Governor-General attended the opening of the Cancer Council ACT’s new branch in Deakin as guests of Ms Christine Brill, President of the Cancer Council ACT.

On Monday 10 December 2018, the Governor-General, His Excellency General Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove attended the arrival of the first Joint Strike Fighters as guests of Air Marshal Leo Davies AO, CSC, Chief of the Royal Australian Air Force, at RAAF Base Williamtown.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received Mr Allan McKinnon PSM, Ambassador-designate to the Kingdom of Thailand, for a pre-posting call at Government House, Canberra.

On Friday 7 December 2018, the Governor-General, His Excellency General Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) was represented by General Angus Campbell AO DSC, Chief of the Australian Defence Force, as guest of honour at the Australian Command and Staff College Graduation at the Australian Defence Force Academy, Campbell.

On Thursday 6 December 2018, at Government House, Canberra, the Administrator of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia, His Excellency Paul de Jersey AC presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Then, the Governor-General was represented by Honorary Aide-de-Camp, Lieutenant Colonel Michael Kearns CSM, for the State Funeral of Dr Emestine Mabo AO in Townsville Stadium, Townsville.

On Wednesday 5 December 2018, at The National Cathedral, Washington D.C., the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, attended the state funeral for former US President George H.W. Bush.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove attended a lunch hosted by the Honourable Joseph Hockey, Australian Ambassador to the United States of America and Ms Melissa Babbage, with members of the Australian Embassy in attendance.

On Tuesday 4 December 2018, at Dulles International Airport, Washington DC, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, were officially welcomed by the Honourable Joseph Hockey, Australian Ambassador to the United States of America and Ms Melissa Babbage.

On Monday 3 December, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) received the Senate Address-in-Reply, which was presented by the President of the Senate, Senator the Honourable Scott Ryan.

In the evening, at Admiralty House, Sydney, Their Excellencies hosted a reception for the Cerebral Palsy Alliance, on the International Day of People With a Disability.

On Saturday 1 December 2018, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Air Chief Marshal Sir Angus Houston AK AFC (Retd), Chairman of the Canberra Symphony Orchestra (CSO), attended the CSO’s Shell Prom Concert.

On Friday 30 November 2018, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), received Mr Steven Robinson, Ambassador-designate to the Republic of the Philippines, for a pre-posting call.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received Ms Andrea Faulkner, Ambassador-designate to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, for a pre-posting call.

Then, the Governor-General received Her Excellency Mrs Erica Schouten, Ambassador for the Kingdom of the Netherlands, for a farewell call.
