On Friday 20 July 2018, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove attended an Australian Police Forces versus Australian Defence Force rugby union exhibition match, as guests of Rear Admiral Michael Rothwell AM RAN, Chairman, ADF Rugby Union, at Portsea Oval, Duntroon, to raise awareness for the Invictus Games in Sydney later this year.

On Thursday 19 July 2018, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) presided over a meeting of the Federal Executive Council, at Government House, Canberra.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received Mr Matthew Neuhaus, Ambassador-designate to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, for a pre-posting call.

Later, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove received Mr Roderick Brazier, High Commissioner to Solomon Islands, and Mrs Amita Brazier.

On Wednesday 18 July 2018, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) received His Excellency Most Reverend Archbishop Adolfo Tito Yllana, Apostolic Nuncio for the Holy See, at Government House, Canberra.

Earlier, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove met with students from St Augustine’s School; St Peters Lutheran College; Trinity Anglican School; and Kilcoy State School, QLD, as they undertook a tour of Government House as part of their visit to Canberra.

On Tuesday 17 July 2018, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) met with students from St Brigid’s Primary School; St Peters Lutheran College; and Mt Isa School of the Air, QLD, as they undertook a tour of Government House as part of their visit to Canberra.

On Monday 16 July 2018, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) received His Excellency Mr Abdolhossein Vahaji, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran, for a farewell call, at Government House, Canberra.

On Saturday 14 July 2018, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as Patron of the Brumbies, and Lady Cosgrove, attended a rugby union match between the Waratahs and Brumbies, as guests of Mr Andrew Hore, Chief Executive Officer, NSW Rugby Union, at Allianz Stadium, Moore Park.

On Friday 13 July 2018, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as Patron of Beyondblue, and Lady Cosgrove, attended the launch of the ‘NewAccess’ program for Defence personnel, at Russell Offices, Canberra , as guests of Ms Georgia Harman, Chief Executive Officer, Beyondblue.

On Thursday 12 July 2018, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) presided over a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove hosted a morning tea for NAIDOC Week, meeting with Indigenous leaders in the local community.

Later, the Governor-General received Ms Ruth Stewart, Ambassador-designate to the Republic of Serbia, with non-resident credentials to the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, and Montenegro, for a pre-posting call.

On Wednesday 11 July 2018, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) received from His Excellency Mr Sisavath Inphachanh, Letters of Credence accrediting him as the Ambassador of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr Chatoulong Bouasisavath (Minister Counsellor), Mr Viengkham Saenbouttalath (Second Secretary), and Mr Vanmaly Somphathong (Third Secretary).

On Friday 6 July 2018, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), attended a meeting between the Portuguese Secretary of State for Internationalisation, Mr Eurico Brilhante Dias, and the European Australian Business Council at the Tivoli Avendia Liberdade Hotel in Lisbon, Portugal.
