On Friday 3 February 2017, at 2 RPH radio station, Glebe, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove viewed the facilities and met with staff, following which the Governor-General broadcasted ‘live-to-air’ content and Lady Cosgrove recorded a briefing for Ablequest. The 2RPH radio station has been broadcasting in Sydney since 1983 and transmits 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Listeners include people who are aged, disabled, non-English speaking and also those who are time poor.

Canberra, ACT; Sydney, NSW

On Thursday 2 February 2017, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), received the High Commissioner for the Republic of Mauritius, His Excellency Mr Raoul Cavalot.

In the afternoon, at Randwick Ronald McDonald House, Sydney, the Governor-General, as Patron, and Lady Cosgrove met with staff, patients and their families. Since 1991, Randwick RMH has been a ‘home away from home’ for 32 families or a total of 134 guests nightly.

On Wednesday 1 February 2017, at the Hyatt Hotel, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove attended the 2017 Super Rugby Brumbies season launch.

In the afternoon, at the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, Melbourne, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chair, Mrs Suzi Carp, attended the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute 30th anniversary lunch.

Canberra, ACT

On Monday 30 January 2017, at the Australian War Memorial, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chief of Navy, Vice Admiral Tim Barrett AO CSC RAN, attended the launch of ‘The Navy and the Nation’ essay.

Tamworth, NSW

On Sunday 29 January 2017, at the Billabong Clubhouse, Tamworth, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chair, Mr Mal McPherson, viewed the facilities and met with members and staff. The Clubhouse is one of 10 in Australia and provides employment, education, and support services to community members who have a mental illness.

Tamworth, NSW

On Saturday 28 January 2017, at the Tamworth Regional Gallery, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Tamworth Regional Council Mayor, Councillor Colin Murray, attended a civic reception.

Afterwards, at Tamworth, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove hosted a lunch for Councillor Colin Murray and Australian country music singer, Mr Lee Kernaghan and Mrs Robyn Kernaghan.

Canberra, ACT; Melbourne, VIC

On Thursday 26 January 2017, at Commonwealth Park, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as Host Officer, attended the National Flag Raising and Citizenship Ceremony. During the Ceremony, 28 conferees from 11 different countries were formally welcomed as new Australian citizens.

On Tuesday 24 January 2017, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), received the Prime Minister, the Honourable Malcolm Turnbull MP.

Afterwards, the Governor-General issued the Instruments of Appointment of Ministers and Parliamentary Secretaries to their respective offices.

Clear Island Waters, QLD; Benowa, QLD

On Friday 20 January 2017, at Clear Island Waters, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as Commander-in-Chief, attended the funeral service for the late Thomas Muggleton MBE.

Afterwards, the Governor-General, as Patron of the Australian Commonwealth Games Association, met with Chief Executive Officer, Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Corporation, Mr Mark Peters.

On Thursday 5 January 2017, at the Sydney Cricket Ground, Moore Park, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as guest of the Chairman of Cricket Australia, Mr David Peever, attended Day Three of the Commonwealth Bank Test Match between Australia and Pakistan.
