On Saturday 26 November 2016, at Puckapunyal Military Area, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as Commander-in-Chief, and Lady Cosgrove attended the 4th/19th Prince of Wales Light Horse Regiment Guidon Parade, at which the Governor-General presented the new 4th/19th Prince of Wales Light Horse Regiment Guidon.

Mornington, VIC

On Friday 25 November 2016, at HMAS Cerberus, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Commander Luke Ryan RAN, received a briefing on Recruit School operations, viewed the facilities and met with staff.

Afterwards, at the School of Survivability and Ships Safety, HMAS Cerberus, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove viewed a demonstration of a Recruit School class.

Canberra, ACT; Mornington, VIC

On Thursday 24 November 2016, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), presided a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Afterwards the Governor-General received the Ambassador-designate to the Republic of Croatia, Ms Elizabeth Petrovic.

Later, the Governor-General received the High Commissioner-designate to the Republic of Vanuata, Ms Jenny Da Rin.

Canberra, ACT

On Wednesday 23 November 2016, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), received the Australian Ambassador to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Mr Miles Armitage.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove hosted a Ceremonial Welcome for Their Majesties King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein and Queen Rania Al Abdullah of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

On Tuesday 22 November 2016, at Defence Establishment Fairbairn, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), was represented at the arrival in Canberra of Their Majesties King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein and Queen Rania Al Abdullah of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, by Mr Paul Singer MVO, Acting Deputy Official Secretary to the Governor-General.

On Monday 21 November 2016, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove hosted an investiture ceremony, at which the Governor-General, as Chancellor of the Order of Australia, invested Mrs Roslyn Packer AC with the insignia of the Companion of the Order of Australia.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received Chair, Mr David Morgan and Chief Executive Officer, Ms Mikaela Stafrace from Kidney Health Australia.

On Sunday 20 November 2016, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove hosted a morning tea for the 70th anniversary of UNICEF and the 50th anniversary of UNICEF Australia.

Afterwards, at the Royal Sydney Golf Club, Rose Bay, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the President, Mr Graeme Bailey, attended a lunch for the 2016 Australian Open, at which they viewed part of the championship.

On Saturday 19 November 2016, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove met with members of the public during the Admiralty House Open Day.

On Friday 18 November 2016, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Head of College, Mr Ray Paxton, attended the opening of the Waverly College’s ‘The Cosgrove Centre’ and unveiled a commemorative plaque.

Wilkins Aerodrome, Antarctica

On Thursday 17 November 2016, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove travelled to Wilkins Aerodrome, Antarctica, on an invitation from the Australian Government.

Afterwards, at Wilkins Aerodrome, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, accompanied by the Director of the Australian Antarctic Division, Dr Nick Gales, viewed the facilities and received a briefing on operations.

Then, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove met with expeditioners and scientists based at Wilkins Aerodrome and Casey Research Station.
